Choose a durable fabric that is easy to clean and withstand regular use and stain-resistant.It would be better to choose an anti-fur fabric if there are cats or dogs at home.And choose a fabric that the color,design is suitable for your interior design.Also for easy to slip on and off the dining chair cover,a stretch fabric would be a good choice.A stretch fabric will make the measuring,sewing process more easy,give you more choice when measure and cut the fabric,not so accurate as the non-stretch fabric.But do not select a fabric with too much stretch,it may easy lose the shape of the cover after long time use.Generally use of fabric are polyester and spandex combined,cotton.Like different kinds of velvet,artificial leather fabric,cotton fabric.
Take precise measurements of your dining chair's size,, including the width, depth, and height of the seat, as well as the circumference of the chair back (if applicable) and cushion sizes if there is. This will ensure your covers fit snugly without sagging or slipping.
1. Sewing machine. if you don’t want to sew it by hand.
2. Scissors. A sharp scissors would be a great help when you cut fabric.
3. Needles,durable thread.It is a necessary product when you sew the fabric.
4. Measure Tape.It is for size measure.
5. Pins.You can pin it when fabric is cut and a help for sewing.
6. Wide Paper(not necessary).To draw your size on paper first and cut it,then cut the fabric by putting the paper on the fabric.This will avoid some size mistake.It is ok if you cut the fabric directly.

8. Velcro.If you want to use velcro between fabrics.

How many yards of fabric do I need to cover a dining chair?
For regular dining chair cover,it is less than one yard of fabric to use to DIY a chair cover.For accurate,it would be better to check the original fabric which from the chair cover and see how many it is.Then purchase based on that measurement.
1. Draw the chair size on the paper and cut.(Ignore it if there is no paper wide and long enough to draw the chair size.)
2. Put the paper on the fabric( or draw the size on the fabric).
3. Cut the fabric carefully.Attention:If the fabric is stretch,the fabric should be cut less about 1 -2inches than the chair size based on how stretch the fabric is.Like if the height is 32inches,the fabric can cut 31inches.But if the fabric is not stretch,the fabric have to be same or larger 1-2inches than the size.
4. After the fabric cut,it would be better to pin the fabric together and try it on chair to see if it is fit.So to cut the fabric a little larger is a better way.You can cut it again if the cover is too loose.But if too small,it have to be cut again,this would waste many fabrics.
Wash and dry the fabrics before sewing to ensure they won't shrink or change color after being laundered. This also removes any dirt, stains, or residue that could affect the sewing process.
After trying the fabric on the dining chair,it is time to sew the fabric together. Sewing all fabric together.Use a straight stitch and adjust the sewing machines’ tension and stitch length based on your needs.After sewing, consider adding a finishing touch, such as topstitching, to enhance the look of your seams.This is not necessary.
When the dining chair cover is completed,put it on and see if it is suitable for your chairs.
